8mm Movies Taken By My Dad
My Dad, Ronald Stanley Hase was a wonderful father and a brilliant photographer and movie maker.
Back In those halcyon days of the 60s and 70s, he took a bunch of 8mm movie using a Sankyo Super-CM 200 cine camera which was projected on to a white screen from an Elmo Projector GP-E.
Recently, I came across them, hidden away in a sideboard in his living room, and it occurred to me that, with a bit of ingenuity, I could convert them to MPG and this is the result.
Needless to say, the cine camera is now obsolete, but it's still possible to use the cine projector to project the image which is then captured using modern day movie camera. Clever software allows you to dub out the whirr of the proector motor and to substitute your own sound.
